Our Ministry

Meet the Ministry Team

The benefice is currently in an interregnum where services will be taken by visiting clergy and other members of the benefice ministry team until such time as a new rector is appointed.

Jan Harding – Lay Reader

I am a farmer’s wife from Atterton, a hamlet astride the A444 which is attached to Witherley Parish.  I was first licensed as a Lay Reader in 2009, and have been part of the Leicester Anglican Cursillo for almost 20 years.  Now a Grandmother (Nana) to 2 beautiful girls, and retired from regular work, I enjoy walking with my dog (which I would also describe as my daily worship & prayer time), gardening, and generally being outside.

Michelle Nelson – Lay Reader

I am Michelle and I‘ve  lived in Fenny Drayton since 2001 but I am a Lancashire Lass by birth. I married Paul back in 1994 after we met at Uni and we have three daughters – who are growing up fast – and three dogs. When I worked full-time I was a Claims and Operations manager, but  now my time is spent on voluntary work and with charities.

I felt called to local ministry over 10 years ago and became involved in the Open the Book team and church roles before being licensed as a Lay Reader back in 2018.

I believe that how we live our lives is a greater testament to our Christian Faith than how often we go to church and try to live by Jesus’ instruction to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul and with all your strength…and to love your neighbour as yourself”. It is still a work in progress but God loves a trier!

Carolyn Patullo – Lay Reader

My name is Carolyn Patullo: I am married to John and live in Dadlington.  We have two daughters who now have families of their own.

In 2004 I became a reader, licensed to serve in the Fenn Lanes Benefice.  It is my great privilege to help in taking services at our five churches, to care for our faithful members, and to reach out to all God’s people.
